Becker football coach Dwight Lundeen still going strong at 74

Dwight Lundeen started Becker’s football program in 1970 at age 22. He’s been the school’s only football coach.

Joe Schmit recently sat down with Lundeen to chat about his remarkable run.

Lundeen has 372 career wins, his most recent came last Friday over Rocori, 28-0. The 372 wins ranks third in Minnesota high school football history. He’s led Becker to three state championships.

Lundeen graduated in 1965 from Cokato High School. While in high school, he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball three times each. He then went to St. Cloud State University, where he graduated in 1969.
