Barr, Pierce, and Bradbury ruled out for Sunday’s Vikings-Chargers game
The Vikings ruled out LB Anthony Barr, DT Michael Pierce, and C Garrett Bradbury for Sunday’s game at Los Angeles vs. the Chargers. CB Bashaud Breeland is questionable with a groin injury.
Barr, who missed the season’s first four games, is expected to be battling a knee issue all year. Look for Nick Vigil to start in base and for Blake Lynch to get additional snaps.
Pierce will miss his fifth consecutive game with an elbow injury, while Bradbury remains on the Covid/Reserve list. Mason Cole will once again start in his place.
So, add Barr and Pierce to the group of Danielle Hunter, Harrison Smith, and Patrick Peterson as key defenders out for the matchup vs. Justin Herbert and the high-powered L.A. offense.
The Chargers are worst in the NFL vs. the run, so this could be a big game for Vikings RB Dalvin Cook.
Kickoff Sunday is at 3:05 p.m. Central.
