Astros select Stillwater’s Drew Gilbert in 1st round of MLB Draft

The Houston Astros selected Stillwater High School graduate Drew Gilbert with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
Gilbert, a center fielder for the Tennessee Volunteers the past three seasons, helped Stillwater win a state championship in 2018.
Gilbert led the Vols with a .362 batting average last season. He had 11 home runs, 70 RBI and had 33 walks and only 32 strikeouts.
