Rangers’ Matt Rempe is offered an in-person hearing, so the NHL could suspend him 6-plus games

Matt Rempe of the New York Rangers has been offered an in-person hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety to discuss his boarding and elbowing of Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen. The Zoom call scheduled for Sunday allows the league to suspend Rempe for six or more games. The 6-foot-8 forward was suspended four games last season for elbowing New Jersey’s Jonas Siegenthaler in the head. The game at Dallas was Rempe’s first back in the NHL after being recalled from the minors.
