The Vikings’ biggest free agent addition last offseason was 28-year-old defensive tackle Michael Pierce, given a 3-year, $27 million deal. But with the pandemic, he was among 67 NFL players who opted out of the 2020 season.

But he’s now ready to join the Vikings, hopeful he can get the COVID-19 vaccine before the season starts.

Our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson caught up with Pierce, discovering a player that is itching to get back playing the sport he has since he was 4-years-old.

Pierce, whose weight ballooned as high as 390 pounds with Baltimore, said he currently weighs 349 pounds. He ended his time in Baltimore at 355 pounds. He picked up CrossFit, and has a personal chef prepare his meals.

Without Pierce, the Vikings finished 27th in the NFL vs. the run. In other words, he was sorely missed.
