#6 Shakopee boys lacrosse takes down Rosemount

The #6 Shakopee Sabers boys lacrosse team defeated the Rosemount Irish 9-2 on Tuesday evening at Rosemount High School.


Shakopee started out the scoring when junior Tyrus Laden scored to make it 1-0 Sabers with 3:05 left in the first. Laden then scored again to make it 2-0 Shakopee with 1:22 left in the first. Then, Luke Whitbeck found a cutting Linus Toward to make it 3-0 Sabers with 40 seconds left in the first.

In the second, Whitbeck scored to make it 4-0 Shakopee going into the half.

Rosemount started the second-half scoring, but Shakopee answered right back when Ethan Mostrom made it 5-1 with 9:32 remaining in the 3rd. Later, Colton Maskevich hit Joseph Ostertag for a goal, Sabers up 6-1 with 3:39 in the 3rd. Then, Alex Kellogg fed Toward for a goal to make it 7-1 Shakopee heading into the fourth.

Following another Rosemount goal, Toward scores from Ostertag again to make it 8-2 Sabers with 5:38 remaining in the game. Whitbeck added another Shakopee goal to make it a 9-2 final score.
