Reid Ballantyne of Shakopee and Kasson/Mantorville’s Patrick Kennedy each became four-time state wrestling champions Saturday night in St. Paul.

Ballantyne battled through a knee injury to defeat Shakopee’s Ben Lunn 6-0 for the Class 3A 132-pound title. Ballantyne is only a junior so he’ll be in the hunt for a fifth crown next year. Ballantyne was one of four Stillwater wrestlers to claim individual state championships.

Kennedy claimed his fourth state title with a 5-2 win over Simley’s Quayin Short in the Class 2A 182-pound championship match. Kennedy ends his high school career with 112 straight victories.
