11 Gophers recognized with conference honors

The Big Ten Conference announced its all-conference performers on defense and special teams Tuesday and 11 Gophers were recognized.

Defensive back Tyler Nubin was named Second Team All-Big Ten by coaches and media while linebacker Mariano Sori-Marin was named to the Third Team by coaches and an honorable mention by media.

Other defensive players recognized as honorable mentions were Cody Lindenberg, Danny Striggow, Trill Carter, Jordan Howden, Kyler Baugh, Terell Smith and Thomas Rush.

On special teams, Gophers kicker Matthew Trickett and return specialist Quentin Redding were both named honorable mentions.

The conference will announce offensive selections on Wednesday.
