State Hockey: Hermantown blitzes Monticello in Class A Quarterfinals

Senior forward Blake Biondi had a hat trick and two assists to spark a Hermantown 7-1 victory over Monticello in the second quarterfinal of the Class A boys hockey state tournament.

Hermantown (22-3-4) had 41 shots on goal, including seven shots by junior defender Joey Pierce and six by Biondi.

Junior Riley Ronayne had the lone goal for Monticello (20-8-1).

Hermantown will meet St. Cloud Cathedral in the first semifinal game on Friday at the Xcel Energy Center.
