Shakopee High School hosts AAU tournament with strict guidelines for safety

Shakopee High School is hosting an AAU Boys Basketball Tournament called the Heat/Fury Showdown 2020. However, it doesn’t look like the same AAU tournaments of the past.

Willie Vang is the director for the Minnesota Heat. He said 180 teams entered the tournament at Shakopee. The strict guidelines include: mask requirements, sanitation after each game, limiting the number of fans for each team, only allowing team in when they are about to play, and designating entrances and exit points.
Ben Wilde is the Minnesota Fury boys basketball director and said he was happy to be back watching basketball. He also stated that parents and players were both excited to be back around basketball. Wilde continued that any of the players can opt-out pf playing at any point. Finally, he has heard good feedback from parents about the precautions.
