Section 6AAAAA Semifinal: Park Center outlasts Buffalo

The Park Center Pirates defeated the Buffalo Bison 28-20 on Saturday afternoon at Park Center High School in the Section 6AAAAA Semifinal.

Buffalo scored first when senior quarterback Evan Soeffker scored a rushing touchdown to make it 7-0 Bison in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Pirate quarterback Marcus Freeman hit senior wideout Austin Ayobamidele for a long touchdown catch to make it a 7-7 game.

In the third quarter, Freeman found senior running back Micha Hobin for a touchdown catch to make it 14-7 Pirates. Later in the quarter, Soeffker made it 14-14 with another touchdown rush.

On the ensuing kickoff, Hobin took it back for another Park Center touchdown, making it 21-14. But, on the ensuing Pirate kickoff, Bison senior Antonio Bluiett returned the kick for a touchdown as the third quarter expired. But, Buffalo would miss the extra point, making it a 21-20 game in favor of Park Center.

Late in the fourth quarter, Hobin scored his third touchdown of the game, this one a rushing touchdown, to make it 28-20 Park Center with just one minute remaining in the game.

The Pirate defense would then stop Buffalo’s offense to give the Pirates the victory.
