#2 Andover girls hockey beats Forest Lake, advances to state

The #2 Andover Huskies girls hockey team defeated the Forest Lake Rangers 8-0 on Friday night to win section 7AA and advance to the state tournament.

The Huskies jumped out to a 1-0 with a little over 11 minutes left in the first when sophomore forward Madison Kaiser put one in the back of the net. Shortly after, junior forward Peyton Hemp fired a slap shot for a goal to make it 2-0 Andover. Then, junior forward Gabby Krause added a goal of her own to make it 3-0. Finally, Hemp added a second goal of her own to make it 4-0 Andover after one period.

In the second, junior defenseman Madison Clough started things off for the Huskies when she scored to make it a 5-0 game. Then, sophomore forward Sara Kaiser added a goal to make it 6-0 after two periods.

The game had a running clock the whole third period, but that didn’t stop senior defenseman Elisebeth Tammi from scoring a goal to make it a 7-0 game. Then, Krause scored her second goal of the game to make it 8-0 for Andover.
