Woodbury warns residents of possible water restrictions as wells are taken out of service

The city of Woodbury is warning residents that increased water restrictions are likely as seven of the city's wells are being taken out of service due to detected levels of polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). 

The city said restrictions will only be implemented if there is a need to maintain pressure in the city's system. The restrictions would last until a temporary water treatment facility is fully operational.

With increased water restrictions, irrigation of lawns is prohibited. Directly watering plants with a hose or watering can is still allowed.

According to the city, property owners found in violation will be issued a citation and fined $50. Fines double with additional offenses.
