Victim in the hospital after being shot in the neck in St. Paul

Police say a victim was taken to the hospital Saturday night after he was shot in the neck in St. Paul.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, officers responded to the sound of gunshots around 9:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Rice Street, where they found a male who had been shot in the neck.

The gunshot victim was taken to Regions Hospital for treatment, and as of Sunday morning he was still alive, police said. No information on the extent of his injuries was immediately available.

Information gathered at the scene indicates two people were shooting at each other, and at least one was hit.

No arrests have been made, and the incident remains under investigation.
