One dead after early morning pursuit and crash

One man is dead after a pursuit and crash early Sunday, according to the Eden Prairie Police Department.

Police responded to a 911 driving complaint call at 1:41 a.m. Sunday near Flying Cloud Drive and Crosstown Circle. They encountered vehicles racing. All but one fled, and squads pursued the solo car down Highway 62, then north onto Baker Road, crossing into Minnetonka.

Officers lost sight of the vehicle under 494 but found it again, crashed, in a yard on the 5300 block of Baker Road.

One adult man was found deceased at the scene and an adult woman was taken to the hospital. No other people or vehicles were involved in the collision.

The State Patrol and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office are assisting with reconstruction and an investigation.
