Medical examiner identifies man killed in north Minneapolis shooting
A 19-year-old has been identified as the person who was killed after a shooting in the Willard Hay neighborhood of north Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the person as Edwin Lydell Vaughn Jr.
The cause of death is a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police investigating deadly shooting in north Minneapolis
Police spokesman John Elder said, just after 9 p.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 2600 block of Upton Avenue North.
When officers arrived, they were unable to find a victim. According to Elder, a few minutes later, the officers were told a man turned up at North Memorial Health Hospital with a gunshot wound. That victim, later identified as Vaughn, died at the hospital.
As of Saturday night, investigators say they have no information on what led to the shooting.
