The Minnesota Department of Health announced it will offer free at-home COVID-19 saliva testing.
The at-home tests are available to all Minnesotans with or without symptoms.
The tests are currently available to residents of the following counties: Aitkin, Becker, Beltrami, Carver, Cook, Crow Wing, Dakota, Douglas, Itasca, Kandiyohi, Kittson, Le Sueur, Lyon, Mower, Nobles, Otter Tail, Pennington, Pine, Red Lake, Rock, Steele, Swift, Wilkin and Wright.
Tests can be ordered online. The tests are then shipped to the homes of those who requested the test with a prepaid return package.
When a person takes the test, they will be able to log onto a website and do a video visit with a health care provider who will provide instructions for the test.
The tests are sent to the state's lab in Oakdale.
