Man dies after being hit by train in Fridley

A man died Wednesday morning after being hit by a train in Fridley.
According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called just after 7:10 a.m. on the report of an Amtrak train hitting a person on the eastbound tracks in the area of Ashton Avenue Northeast.
When authorities arrived, they found a male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Metro Transit reported the incident caused some disruption to Northstar’s service.
The incident is under investigation.
