Man arrested in murder of his father in Zumbro Falls

A man has been arrested in connection to the death of his father in rural Zumbro Falls.

According to the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home in the 59000 block of County Road 6 at 6:18 p.m. Friday. There, authorities found 73-year-old Edward William Riley dead.

The sheriff’s office said his son, 44-year-old James Edward Riley, was arrested a short time later on probable cause murder charges.

James Riley is currently being held in the Wabasha County Jail.

Edward Riley’s death remains under investigation.
