Man accused of fatally shooting pregnant Minneapolis woman pleads guilty

A man who authorities say is responsible for shooting and killing the mother of his unborn child has pleaded guilty.

According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, 27-year-old Zachary Robinson pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder in the July 5 shooting death of Leneesha Columbus.

Columbus was 26-weeks pregnant at the time of the shooting. The child died on Aug. 6 due to complications from a premature birth.

Robinson had previously pleaded guilty to second-degree assault for shooting a man outside a downtown Minneapolis club.
