M Health Fairview unveils protective boxes for health care workers

M Health Fairview hospitals have started receiving respiratory protective boxes meant to help protect health care workers.

The boxes, which have plastic armholes, were designed by the University of Minnesota and M Health Fairview.

They’re designed to limit airborne transmission of the coronavirus.

Researchers are also working on a second model with a HEPA filter for wider distribution.
