Investigation into misconduct allegations against St. Anthony Village High School staff member, former employee underway

The St. Anthony-New Brighton school district is investigating allegations of "inappropriate misconduct" against a current St. Anthony Village High School staff member and a former employee.

Earlier this week, the district issued the following statement to families:

Today, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate misconduct by a current St. Anthony Village High School staff member and a former employee of the high school. We are taking this matter very seriously. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our highest priority.

We have initiated an investigation and the staff member in question is on a leave of absence. We are providing this information to families, students, the community, and staff so you are aware an investigation is underway.

Those with questions or concerns are asked in the statement to contact Superintendent Dr. Renee Corneille.

KSTP has learned a petition—directed toward the St. Anthony School Board, principal, and district superintendent—has been created, calling for changes to "a culture perpetuating sexual harassment and enabling inappropriate behavior."
