Duluth Police Department to move to ’emergency schedule’

The Duluth Police Department has announced it is moving to an "emergency schedule," according to WDIO-TV, a Hubbard-owned station.

WDIO reports that all employees with the department who are able will move to remote work. Under the emergency schedule, patrol officers will work five days, followed by a 10-day quarantine.

The department’s investigative staff will work three rotating shifts and serve as backup for patrol officers.

According to a Duluth Police Department official, as of mid-October, the department has had 23 employees test positive for COVID-19. Last week, 29 officers and staff members, as well as the chief, were in quarantine due to possible COVID-19 exposures.
