Carjacking and 2 shootings in Minneapolis over the past two days

Over the past two days, multiple separate crime incidents happened in Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, on Friday, a carjacking happened at 6:01 p.m., police said officers located a vehicle from an armed carjacking.

The vehicle was occupied and officers attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, but the driver tried to elude the police.

According to police, the suspect crashed at 3rd Avenue North and Washington Avenue North and the occupants were taken into custody. One man and one woman were seen by medical personnel as a precaution. The man was booked into Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.

The second incident happened at 10:40 p.m. on Friday. Police said officers responded to a shooting to the 4200 block of Irving Avenue North.

Officers arrived and found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to North Memorial Medical Center in critical condition via ambulance.

The suspect description was obtained along with leads from the scene. The victim is expected to survive her injuries. No one is in custody.

The last incident happened early Saturday morning at 2:25 a.m. when officers were walking out of the 4th Precinct station and heard the sound of shots fired.

Officers responded to the area. While en route, a ShotSpotter activation was aired of shots fired on 1400 block of Morgan Avenue North.

Officers arrived and made contact with a woman inside a residence on the block that had suffered from a gunshot wound considered to be not life-threatening. She was transported to an area hospital by ambulance.
