Biker airlifted to hospital after Stearns County crash

A biker was airlifted to a hospital on Saturday after a crash in St. Martin Township.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a report of a motorcycle crash on County Road 10, north of 290th Street, at 12:54 p.m.

A witness told authorities she was headed south on County Road 10 when a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed passed her and continued southbound. However, the biker lost control after going around a curve and hit a portion in the ditch, throwing the driver from the motorcycle.

The man, identified as 50-year-old Michael Anthony Czech, of Rice, was airlifted to a hospital. The sheriff’s office said he wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
