Archbishop Hebda blesses St. Paul from steps of cathedral
Archbishop Bernard Hebda blessed the city of St. Paul on Friday from the steps of the St. Paul Cathedral.
He made the sign of the cross while holding the eucharist — which Catholics believe is the physical body of Jesus — toward the city.
The archbishop says it's important to try to stay connected, even while apart.
"Moments like this of great challenge are also moments for us to rise up and to express that unity that we share, regardless of race or creed or nationality," Hebda said. "This is a moment for all of us to come together and to really see that dignity of human life in each one of us."
Catholic Masses statewide are currently canceled to prevent large-group gatherings.
