Woman gives birth at I-94 exit ramp

One newborn just couldn’t wait to come into this world.
Tim and Baily Bieniek-Phelps gave birth to their daughter Ariel at the Radio Drive off ramp on Interstate 94 when driving to a hospital in St. Paul Sunday night.
“I said pull over, she’s coming, we don’t have time,” Baily Bieniek-Phelps said.
Phelps used a shoelace from one of his shoes to tie her umbilical cord.
“It worked perfect, it was the only thing I had on me at the time,” Phelps said. “I told her she owes me a brand new pairs of shoes.”

Both the baby and her mother are doing fine.
“I’m just happy she is here and she’s healthy, she’s perfect,” Baily Bieniek-Phelps said.
