1 dead after Polk County crash

One person died and another was injured after a crash Thursday morning in western Wisconsin.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says that shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday, emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash north of the village of Centuria.

When first responders arrived, they found that a white Dodge pickup truck had lost control, crossed the dividing line into oncoming traffic and crashed into a gray Ford F-150.

According to Polk County, the driver of the Dodge pickup suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. He was later identified as 59-year-old Roger Lundeen, of Milltown, Wis.

The driver of the Ford truck was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Authorities say that slushy road conditions may have been a factor in the crash.

The crash is under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
