‘Twister Sisters’ capture tornado footage in western Minnesota

Storms passed through the state on Wednesday and a duo who refer to themselves as the "Twister Sisters" were in western Minnesota to capture some video of tornadoes and funnel clouds.

According to their Facebook page, the Twister Sisters put together a video of some footage in Otter Tail County.

"We both have a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and completed Meteorology courses at Saint Cloud State University. We have taught Skywarn classes, presented research at national conferences and to many local groups," their Facebook page reads. "While we love sharing our passion with others and helping the community learn about severe weather and stay safe, we also enjoy the photography and videography of a stormy sky. The colors and dynamics are incredible and one of a kind!"

The duo were also featured in a reality TV show called "Twister Sisters" in 2007 and 2008 on WE-TV. They have also made appearances on Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, ABC, FOX, MSNBC, Anderson Cooper and Jay Leno.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported a powerful tornado damaged farms and injured at least two people in the area Wednesday night. The tornado struck at 5:30 p.m. near Dalton. NWS says three farmsteads were hit, and one of those farmhouses was flattened.

Otter Tail County Sheriff Barry Fitzgibbons said two people were taken to a hospital. Their conditions were unknown. Sheriff Fitzgibbons also confirmed that there was one fatality.
