Thunderstorms move across southern Minnesota, western Wisconsin

UPDATE: The severe thunderstorm watches have since expired.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several counties across southern Minnesota and into western and central Wisconsin. The alert is in effect until 11 p.m.
High winds topping 30 mph, torrential rain and hail are possible in areas with the strongest storms. Some localized flooding may occur, the NWS said.

According to KSTP Meteorologist Wren Clair, the storms are expected to linger in the Twin Cities metro area through the evening, but they’re expected to have moved to the south and east by 9 p.m.

There are chances for isolated showers and storms throughout the week.
On Monday, there’s a chance for some isolated rain in the morning. The high is expected to be in the high 70s with the low getting down to 60 at night, Clair said.
