A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11 p.m. for central and eastern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities and Duluth, and much of northern Wisconsin. High temperatures and humidity make it easier for storms to develop quickly.

Tornado warnings were also issued for parts of Anoka and Washington counties Saturday evening.

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect in Anoka County until 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Quarter-sized hail and gusts of wind reaching 60 mph were reported in the area, potentially damaging vehicles, houses and trees.

Looking ahead to Sunday, we should get somewhat of a break from the heat and humidity. Expect mostly sunny skies with a high of 83 and a low of 64 at night.
