Record cold possible Monday with warmup on the horizon

It looks like we’re going to have to deal with unseasonably cold weather just a little bit longer, but the good news is it will feel much more like fall in time for Halloween, according to KSTP Meteorologist Wren Clair.

A projected high temperature of 32 on Monday will be approaching a record cold high for the Twin Cities, Clair said. The current record cold high for Oct. 26 of 32 degrees was set in 1919. The low is forecast to be around 17 degrees, which is just a few degrees off from the record low of 13 set in 1997.

After coming off a few spots of snow, we can look forward to dry weather with partly sunny to mostly sunny skies for most of the week.

Temperatures are forecast to start warming up by the middle of the week, with highs remaining in the 40s until Saturday when the high could get into the low 50s, according to Clair.
