Protect your plants: NWS issues ‘freeze warning’ for central, southeast Minnesota

Those in central and southeast parts of the state might want to protect their plants and check their outdoor pipes overnight Thursday into Friday as the National Weather Service has issued a "freeze warning."
Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas said frost is possible Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday nights.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures as low as 28 degrees could affect "sensitive vegetation" and could possibly damage outdoor plumbing that isn’t protected. As a result, the NWS advises wrapping or draining outdoor water pipes and advises taking steps to protect outdoor plants.

The alert affects dozens of counties in Minnesota and parts of west central Wisconsin.
Yuhas said Friday will be partly cloudy and cool, with a high of 51 degrees.
