We’re catching up on our precipitation deficit with some much-needed rain overnight Saturday and into Sunday.

KSTP Meteorologist Nicole Mitchell said we could easily get an inch or more of rain, and parts of southeast Minnesota could get as much as 2 inches of rain in total. The showers are expected to taper off slowly throughout the day Sunday.

The pouring rain will be accompanied by some strong winds, with gusts reaching 30 mph. Expect a high around 59 degrees.

Once the rain clears, the weather will look completely different — we’ll start seeing plenty of sunshine and highs in the 70s on Monday, and temps will climb into the 80s by the middle of the week.
