We’ll see some more of the rain showers that rolled in Sunday afternoon in the days ahead, but there are sunny skies in the forecast as we get closer to the weekend, KSTP Meteorologist Wren Clair said.

Starting early Monday morning, we can expect some scattered rain showers and some possible thunderstorms to move in through the metro. Those should clear by the afternoon, when we’ll see some partly cloudy skies and a high of 70 degrees.

Then on Tuesday we have a higher chance for some thunderstorms, and some isolated severe storms are possible — mainly in far southeast Minnesota. Rain stays in the forecast on Wednesday, although it looks to be much lighter. Expect highs in the high 50s to low 60s both days.

As we gear up for the weekend, we’ll start to see lots of sun and highs in the 70s.
