First flakes spotted: NWS Duluth reports flurries, possible snow over the weekend

It’s the first fall of the season, and we’re not talking about the leaves.

The National Weather Service in Duluth reported Thursday morning that snow flurries had been spotted outside of its office.

And more could be on the way, the NWS reports.

According to the NWS, a mix of snow and rain could fall in the Arrowhead Region Saturday.

NWS is reporting there could be some accumulations up to 4 inches. However, there is still some uncertainty on the snowfall amounts.
