Excessive heat watch, temperatures in 90s on Friday

The past couple of days haven’t been too bad but Friday’s weather will feature much more heat and humidity.
According to KSTP Chief Meteorologist Ken Barlow, Friday is expected to be hot and humid with temperatures rising to 92 degrees as the high and the heat index going up to 100 degrees. There is likely going to be an early thunderstorm on Friday, but otherwise, the weather will be mostly sunny and breezy.
Starting at noon, an excessive heat watch is active for multiple counties in the Twin Cities metro and southern Minnesota.

The heat is likely to continue into the weekend with Saturday and Sunday having a heat index of 95 to 100 degrees. Both days are expected to be hot and humid, with some thunderstorms possible.
After the hot weekend, cooler weather is expected to move in.
