An April snowstorm has covered the Twin Cities and piled half a foot of snow on some parts of the state.

Roughly halfway through April this year, Minnesotans have already seen temperatures reach about 70 degrees as well as this most recent snowfall.

A KSTP crew reported some parts of the state, such as Hastings, received about six inches of snow. Road conditions in that area were also difficult and many drivers spun out or were forced to pull over.

Although driving was a challenge, some said the fresh blanket of snow helped insulate their bank accounts.

"I don’t mind it; I plow snow and make more money," Brent McGraw, of Hastings, said.

Looking ahead, Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow said a slow warmup is expected this week. Although snow showers are expected Monday afternoon, temperatures are expected to rise by Tuesday morning.
