Light snow overnight and tomorrow

Good evening and happy Friday! Flurries and light scattered snow showers stay in the forecast tonight into tomorrow morning. Most of central and southern Minnesota into western Wisconsin will see a coating to 1″ of snow. Temperatures overnight are in the upper-20s, with highs tomorrow in the mid-30s, so I expect a lot of the light snow to melt upon reaching the ground/pavement. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place across northeastern Minnesota tonight through tomorrow night with 2″ to 5″ of snowfall across northern Minnesota.

Freezing drizzle is also occurring Up North, and some spots are already icy. Central Minnesota and the metro could see some freezing drizzle at times as well. So be cautious of slick spots tonight into tomorrow.

For the metro, much of tomorrow will be dry, as the flurries and light snow are scattered off and on. I do think that we could briefly see some moderate snowfall Saturday late afternoon and evening, first across the west and north metro.

Sunday is a little cooler in the mid to upper-20s behind Saturday’s storm system and attending cold front that tracks eastward. However, we’ll also see decreasing clouds Sunday, which should allow for some sunshine! Light snowfall is again likely late Monday and overnight into Tuesday. Temperatures take a major tumble late next workweek into the next weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend!
