The U.S. Navy teamed up with the Minnesota National Guard to receive specialized, life-saving training Tuesday.

Navy sailors based in Virginia traveled to Camp Ripley for under-ice water diving training.

Navy officials say the training gets the unit ready for any type of deployment.

“Just like the Navy advertises that way we can deploy anywhere in the world, dive anywhere at any time if need be, so this is just another one of those tools in our toolbox that we can use and utilize anytime,” Diver 1st Class Daniel Glover said.

Navy divers will stay in Minnesota for the next week for the training.
