If your weekend plans are taking you outside of the Twin Cities this weekend, be on the lookout for construction cones!
On Highway 52, drivers will find intermittent shoulder closures between Cannon Falls and Zumbrota. Work started a couple of weeks ago and will continue for another month. All lanes are expected to stay open.
North of the Twin Cities, lanes closures are in place along Highway 61 in Grand Marais. The work is part of a reconstruction project that will continue into 2021.
As drivers head back to the metro, they should be prepared to encounter a traffic shift on Interstate 94 eastbound from Rogers to Maple Grove. Stay to the right to exit off of I-94 and stay to the left to travel straight through the work zone.
In the past week, there have been an increase in crashes along this stretch, so pay attention and adjust your speeds accordingly.
