Wisconsin man airlifted to hospital after crash
An Elmwood, Wisconsin man was airlifted to a St. Paul hospital after a crash late Friday morning.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said, at about 11:44 a.m., officers were advised of a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 128, just under a half-mile south of County Trunk Highway B in Spring Valley Township, Wisconsin.
An investigation determined that a 2004 Honda Civic, driven by 28-year-old Daniel Kirby was traveling south on Highway 128 when he lost control on the gravel shoulder. He then crossed into the northbound lane, entering the east ditch. Kirby’s vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to a rest on the roof in a wooded area, the sheriff’s office said.
Kirby was transported from the scene by Elmwood Area Ambulance to Western Wisconsin Health Hospital in Baldwin, Wisconsin. He then was transferred by Life Link III Helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undetermined injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
