More traffic pain for the southwest metro is expected this weekend. MnDOT says the single lane work drivers have been encountering for weeks along Highway 169 in Shakopee will continue through Sunday night. The roadway is down to one lane in both directions between Canterbury Road and Highway 101 for concrete repairs. The good news is that after Sunday evening, the work will switch to temporary, night-time lane closures only.

Interstate 494 will be down to one lane in the southeast metro for part of the weekend. Single-lane work will kick in around 9 a.m. Friday between Delaware Avenue and Highway 52 in Inver Grove Heights. At the same time, the ramp from Highway 52 southbound to I-494 eastbound will close. All lanes and ramps will reopen by Saturday at 5 p.m. The work is part of a larger project to repave the road and repair a number of bridges along I-494.

Meanwhile, Interstate 94 is set to close again Friday night. The westbound lanes will shut down at the I-694/I-494 interchange in the east metro Friday night at 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday. The ramp from I-94 westbound to I-694 southbound will close at the same time.
