A few construction projects could get in your way this weekend.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has tweaked the schedule for Friday night’s Interstate 35W closure in Minneapolis. The roadway will close in both directions between I-94 and Highway 62 starting at 10 p.m. until 9 a.m. Saturday morning while crews pour the deck on the bridge over Lake Street. The detour takes drivers to Highway 62, Highway 100 and I-394.
Near the airport, the ramp from Highway 5 westbound to I-494 eastbound was scheduled to close Friday morning. The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday. Traffic is being detoured to 34th Avenue and I-494 instead.
Meanwhile, County Road I is closing in Moundsview this weekend. It will shut down between the I-35W southbound ramp and the roundabout starting at 10 Friday night until 5 a.m. Monday.
Highway 100 will be down to one lane for a portion of the weekend. The southbound side will be impacted between Minnetonka Boulevard and Excelsior Boulevard in St. Louis Park from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The ramp from Highway 7 to Highway 100 southbound will close during the same time frame as part of the Southwest Light Rail project.
