Victim identified in fatal drunken-driving crash in Wyoming, Minn.

A woman died Friday night after another person suspected of drunkenly driving at a high speed crashed into the victim’s vehicle, according to Minnesota State Patrol.

According to a release, at 11:25 p.m. in Wyoming, Minnesota, a Cadillac SLS Sedan that was traveling southbound on Interstate 35 at a high rate of speed rear-ended a Ford Econoline at milepost 134.

The Ford rolled into a ditch, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle, said the State Patrol. The Cadillac went off the road but stayed upright.

The driver of the Ford, 49-year-old Lisa Torell, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.

North Memorial Air Care airlifted the Cadillac driver, 52-year-old Christine Risberg, to North Memorial Health Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators believe Risberg had been drinking.
