Traffic switch starts Friday night along I-35W in the north metro, new work zones popping up elsewhere
If you’re heading out of town this weekend, you’ll find a few new work zones along the way.
Starting late tonight, a new traffic pattern will go into place along Interstate 35W in the north metro. Motorists traveling northbound between County Road C in Roseville and Interstate 694 in Arden Hills will need to decide whether to use the right two lanes to access local ramps or to use the left lane to travel straight through. The traffic shift will stay in place through the fall.
Earlier this week, Highway 5 closed in Norwood Young America between Highway 25 and 2nd Street while crews construct a roundabout. The work will be done in November. The detour takes motorists to Highway 5, Highway 284 and Highway 212.
In St. Cloud, a resurfacing project is underway along Highway 23. Drivers can expect to encounter lane restrictions between Highway 95 and County Road 1 on good weather days thru October. Watch for crews Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturdays, crews will work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Further west, Highway 10 in Detroit Lakes is under construction as well. There are lane restrictions on the east side of the city until late September.
