State Patrol reports over 100 crashes, 110 spinouts Thursday

With a winter storm making its way across the state on Thursday, travel conditions were expected to deteriorate in many areas as the day progressed.

The Minnesota State Patrol said it had 109 reports of crashes and 110 reports of vehicles spun-out or off roads from 8 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Thursday. Fifteen of those crashes resulted in injuries although none were serious or fatal. At least seven semis also jackknifed.

The storm is expected to linger over the state throughout the night and into Friday, with the worst travel conditions expected overnight in most areas.

By the time the storm is done, most areas of Minnesota could have between 3 and 6 inches of snowfall by Friday afternoon, with up to 8 inches possible in a few areas.
