St. Augusta man run over by truck while blowing snow, taken to hospital
A man was taken to a hospital Wednesday morning after he was hit by a vehicle while blowing snow in St. Augusta.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said it was notified that a man may have been run over by a truck on 21st Avenue at 9:52 a.m.
Authorities responded and found several people helping the injured man, identified as 62-year-old Scott Knochenmus. The sheriff’s office said Knochenmus had been blowing snow in his driveway when his wife began to move the truck in the driveway. As she was backing the truck, her foot slipped and hit the accelerator, causing it to jolt down the driveway and striking her husband.
Knochenmus was taken to a hospital for further treatment of "significant" injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
The crash remains under investigation.
