Portion of southbound Hwy 65 in Blaine reopens after police chase, rollover crash
A portion of southbound Highway 65 in Blaine has reopened Monday morning after a police pursuit and subsequent rollover crash.
KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith said the crash happened at 117th Avenue.
According to the Blaine Police Department, at about 5:30 a.m., officers were called to the area along Ulysses Street NE near a Walmart upon receiving a report of a suspicious person looking inside vehicles in a parking lot. Police also learned the suspicious person was driving a stolen vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers saw the suspect driving away from the scene. Officers tried to stop the vehicle on Highway 65 by performing a PIT maneuver, according to the department. The suspect vehicle rolled over into the ditch and three occupants were taken to a nearby hospital.
Smith said three ambulances were at the crash scene at one point.

The highway reopened at about 9 a.m., Smith said.
