New road closures go into place this week in the west, north, and south metro
Drivers are in for a busy week of road construction.
If you’re heading through Minneapolis, you’ll encounter nightly road closures along Interstate 94 eastbound between interstates 394 and 35W. The road will shut down Monday through Friday each night this week starting at 10 p.m. and reopening by 5 a.m. the following morning.
In the north metro, Highway 61 is closing between Forest Lake and Wyoming. The barriers will go into place by 5 a.m. Monday between Highway 8 and I-35.The roadway will be shut down in both directions for an entire month. A detour will be in place along I-35. Access will be maintained for businesses and residents.
To the south, a portion of Highway 282 is shutting down in Jordan on Monday. The roadway will close in both directions from Lydia Road to Dairy Lane. The closure will last into August. Meanwhile, Highway 282 will reopen between Lydia Road and Mill Street on June 24.
